DISCOVER THE LANGHE ROERO (Piedmont)

Monteu Roero, where Dolce Vista Hotel&Villa is located, enjoys a strategic position that allows visitors to fully experience the events around the Alba and Asti region, as well as visit renowned villages such as Barolo, Barbaresco, la Morra and Neive. Additionally, Canale, capital of Roero (known for its Arneis and Nebbiolo wines), home to the famous Michelin-starred chef David Palluda and the Roero wine center, is just 10 minutes away by car, while Alba, world-famous for its white truffle fair is 15 minutes away.

 

Turin, with its museums, including the famous Egyptian Museum, and its impressive Reggia di Venaria Reale, nicknamed the "mini-Versailles", is just 45 minutes away by car. Finally, a day trip to Liguria, with its cities like Genoa and Savona, is possible in about 90 minutes via the highway, access to which is just 15 minutes from Monteu Roero. The area also offers plenty of opportunities for sports enthusiasts, with hiking trails, e-bike rides among the vineyards and horse riding opportunities on the Roero trails. Additionally, a golf course is available near DolceVista Hotel&Villa, in the charming town of Cherasco, just 25 minutes away by car.

IDEAS FOR EXCURSIONS AND WALKS

 

By car, within less than 30 minutes, you can reach some of the most beautiful villages in the Langhe region, as well as the most prestigious wineries in our area. On this page, we share a few ideas, but we are always at your disposal during your stay to advise you on restaurants, tastings, and other activities.

 

5 KM AWAY: CANALE AND ROERO

This small town, the capital of Roero, is home to the Roero Wine Center, famous for its white Arneis wine.

12 KM AWAY: ALBA AND THE LANGUE

This fascinating historic center and capital of the Langhe hosts the International White Truffle Fair. Don't miss visiting the Dome and the Church of San Domenico.

 

18 KM AWAY: NEIVE

In 20 minutes by car, you can reach this small village, often voted one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. The Cantina del Glicine with its façade covered in green foliage and the Gardens of the Counts of Castelborgo are among the reasons to come here, in addition to the many typical restaurants and the magnificent viewpoint.

19 KM AWAY: BRA

The little ones will enjoy the Toy Museum and the Civic Museum of Natural History, while the older ones will be attracted to the Bicycle and Mechanical Writing Museum. Plus, several baroque churches and old palaces, as well as restaurants and wineries. The Royal Castle of Pollenzo nearby will appeal to everyone!

 

21 KM AWAY: GRINZANE CAVOUR

Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, was mayor of the village for 15 years, and the castle bears his name. It can now be visited inside with a guide.

 

26 KM AWAY: BAROLO

A small village as famous as the eponymous wine known worldwide. Here, the WiMU, that is, the Wine Museum and the Corkscrew Museum will be appreciated by wine lovers, as well as the Marchesi di Barolo Wineries.

 

28 KM AWAY: LA MORRA

Get ready to take selfie after selfie, because here the viewpoint offers one of the most beautiful views of the Langhe, while a short distance away is the colorful Chapel of Brunate and the Great Red Bench.

 

52 KM AWAY: TORINO

A city rich in culture (Egyptian Museum) but also transformed from an industrial city to a green city; stroll along the Po or visit nearby Superga for an extraordinary view of the city.
